Industrial Cleaning and Construction site management

Essex based, one of the industry leaders, a privately owned successful specialised contract cleaning company with contracts throughout the UK and Europe, providing Industrial  Cleaning and Construction site management

The role
Based at the construction site in Belgium, to be responsible for Safety, Health, Environment, Sustainability & Quality matters on a major construction project.
This is a fixed term contract until July 2020, with possible full time employment once the construction contract is completed. 

Key Responsibilities
Establish and promote best practice in SHESQ matters.
Advise and support Managers and supervisors to discharge their responsibilities for the SHESQ of employees
Ensure all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities and provide advice where necessary
Regular inspections of site and workplaces to determine if work is being carried out safely
Carry out accident/incident investigations
Collate business / contract SHESQ statistics for reporting purposes.
Review SHESQ information to identify trends and areas for improvement
Develop and implement SHESQ campaigns and improvement plans.
Participate in working groups, committees and joint consultations
Undertake SHESQ audits and support the business in the delivery of the audit programme
Assist in the preparation and review of project SHESQ documents.
Provide support to project teams in the development of SHESQ plans.
Identify SHESQ consents / permits or exemptions that are required and ensure they are obtained.
Maintain records to ensure legal and company compliance
Provide reports, presentations and information
Carry out site inductions and other training

The Candidate
Candidates must have previous experience in Safety, Health, Environment, Sustainability & Quality, running major construction projects, looking after all Health & Safety on site

Qualifications / Training/ Skills & Experience required
CSCS card
At least 2/3 years’ experience in a SHESQ role.
Relevant SHESQ membership (E.g. IOSH, IEMA, CQI)
MS package knowledge (E.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project)
Solid understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001, 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standard.
Candidates must have their own vehicle but accommodation will be provided in Belgium and tunnel paid for travel when coming back to UK.
